Birmingham Clean Air Zone – Gathering initial feedback from the business community

  • Date: 21st July 2021
  • Location: Online
  • Time: 08:45 - 09:45
  • Cost: Free

Six weeks after the launch of Birmingham's Clean Air Zone, this event will collate feedback from the business community on how firms have responded and the challenges/ opportunities that have arisen.

As part of the drive towards cleaner air in the city and reducing pollution levels, Birmingham City Council launched the Clean Air Zone on 1 June 2021. Improving air quality will mean everyone who lives, works or visits the city can breathe cleaner air and lead healthier lives. Businesses have a key role to play in the reduction of air pollution and many organisations are taking positive action to achieve this.

Prior to the launch of the Birmingham Clean Air Zone, the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) worked closely with the business community for over two years to help firms in the region prepare for the start of the zone. Now almost six weeks after its initial launch, the GBCC and Birmingham City Council are keen to collate feedback from the business community on how firms have responded to the start of the Zone and the challenges and opportunities that have arisen over the last six weeks.

The key note speaker, Councillor Waseem Zaffar, Cabinet Member for Transport & Environment at Birmingham City Council will share insight on:

  • The initial running of the Clean Air Zone
  • The opportunities and challenges that have arisen for businesses over the last six weeks
  • Gathering feedback on any additional support or guidance businesses need moving forward

The webinar is free to attend and there will be a Q&A section at the end of the session which will allow businesses to put specific questions to the Clean Air Zone Team at Birmingham City Council.
