Businesses, schools, medical practices and community transport
Staff, patients and visitors attending shifts or appointments at medical practices within the Clean Air Zone and who drive a vehicle that does not meet the emission standards will be required to pay the daily charge.
- GP surgeries
The only exemption will be visitors or patients attending appointments or visits at the following medical practices as they provide out-of-hours emergency treatment:
- Birmingham Children's Hospital
- Bath Row Medical Practice (Attwood Green Health Centre)
- Badger Medical
Visitors and patients attending these buildings will be required to collect a voucher for each day of their visit (including visits which cross the midnight threshold) and redeem it online within seven days to void the charge. This scheme will be launched once the Clean Air Zone goes live.
Staff at these premises who meet the eligibility criteria and who drive a vehicle which does not meet the emission standards can apply for a worker temporary exemption permit.
To help raise awareness of the Clean Air Zone amongst staff and patients, we have created some free A3 and A4 posters which you can download and print to display around your surgery, hospital or practice.
