Exemption permits and additional incentives
Following our public consultation, we plan to give some people more time to prepare for the Clean Air Zone with short term exemptions from the zone charges, and hope to offer additional incentives to some people who would find it more difficult to make the changes.
In order to be eligible for the financial support measures detailed below, you must have been the registered owner of the vehicle since September 10th 2018. This timeframe does not apply for exemptions.
You will be able to apply for additional incentives and exemption permits when the applications go live from 2020 onwards.
NB You will not be eligible for the exemption if your vehicle is a commercial vehicle, a taxi or a private hire vehicle.
